What is Doubletree day camp?
Day camp is a five-day themed event for Girl Scouts held during the end of June. It takes place during the day, and is a great way to make friends, learn new skills and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Day camps are designed for girls to attend individually, not for troops. Registration papers are handed out through the Troop Leaders. You register for day camp by mail. Since Doubletree Day Camp is staffed solely by Girl Scout volunteers, adults are necessary to make camp happen! Day camp fills up quickly, so girls who have a full-time, adult volunteer are given priority registration. Once these positions have been filled, girls without an adult 5-day volunteer will be admitted on a first-come, first serve basis.
When can I register?
Day camp registration opens on April 15, 2008. Registrations should be postmarked on the 16th for the best chance at placement. Registrations received before the opening date will be held and processed on April 20,, 2008. Camp usually files up on the opening date. We will accept registrations till the 20th incase there might still be room open.
Can a girl attend day camp even if she’s not a Girl Scout?
Yes! Girls who are not Girl Scouts are encouraged to join the fun! Non-Girl Scouts just need to include a $10.00 membership fee to be paid with the day camp registration. .
What will the badge activities be?

Who can volunteer?
A day camp volunteer can be any adult, 18 years or older, who has completed the Girl Scout Volunteer Position Application, Background Check, and the Day Camp Adult Registration form. This includes moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents and family friends. Day camp must maintain a ratio of one adult to every five girls. Doubletree day camp provides training for volunteers prior to camp. All volunteers are required to attend. Doubletree day camp offers brother and preschool units for the children of full-time day camp volunteers who have completed Day Camp training. Preschool-aged children must be toilet-trained.
Do Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts need to complete program aide training in order to help at day camp?
No. Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts who have not completed program aide training can still help with day camp as a day camp aide. Day camp aides are Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts who have not yet completed training, but would like to assist at day camp in non-leadership role.ie: ( Tags, or Boys). Program Aide application
Program aides are Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts who have completed program aide training and who assist at day camp in leadership roles, such as leading songs and games and helping in a specific unit. Serving as a day camp/program aide gives older girls the opportunity to gain organizational and leadership skills while meeting other older Girl Scouts from the council.
The next Program Aid training is Girls Lead! Program Aide Training
